
On April 12, 1926, Modesto Cabal Galindo founded the Sociedad Agrícola e Industrial del Valle S.A., now Ingenio Providencia.
Eight hectares of land were allocated in the township of El Placer for the construction of the Instituto Técnico, Comercial e Industrial Providencia.


Land was donated in El Cerrito to support the Cincuentenario housing project.
The Sugarcane Museum is inaugurated.


Providencia became part of the Organización Ardila Lülle.
Providencia became the first sugar mill in Colombia to produce organic sugar.


The Distillery began operations. Today, it has an approximate production capacity of 100 million liters per year of anhydrous, organic, and extra-neutral alcohol.
The electric power cogeneration plant began operations


Providencia Ecological Park was launched: 514 hectares, 30 natural springs, 278 bird species, and 450 plant species.
Providencia receives the Bonsucro certification, which accredits the sustainable production of all sugar and alcohol products derived from sugarcane crops. The Providencia Educa, Providencia Conecta, and School of Leaders for a Sustainable Valle social investment programs are created.


100 hectares of the Piedechinche Estate are allocated for the restoration of the Tropical Dry Forest ecosystem. Providencia becomes the first sugar mill in the world to be certified as a B Corporation.
We expanded our product portfolio and launched Providencia Micropulverized Sugar to the market, for sweet preparations.


We present our higher purpose: “We inspire a better, sweeter, and more sustainable world,” reaffirming our responsibility to the well-being of people, the care of the environment, and the building of a more sustainable future for all.
We celebrate 25 years as pioneers in Organic Sugar production.


We received the Xposible Award for the social impact work of Colegio Providencia.
